Venice Biennale 2026 Highlights

Discover how Venice Biennale 2026 connects sustainability, spatial design, kinetic installations through immersive global pavilions and exhibitions.

Dear PA Reader,

Venice Biennale 2026 opens as a global platform exploring sustainability, memory, and emotional architecture through the theme “In Minor Keys.” National pavilions and collateral events transform Venice into a living design laboratory where architecture becomes deeply connected to culture, atmosphere, and human experience. The India Pavilion returns after seven years with a strong focus on sustainability and collective memory, while the Holy See Pavilion offers a peaceful retreat designed to slow visitors down through quiet spatial experiences and reflective environments.

Across the Biennale, architects are examining how spatial design affects mood through light, texture, movement, and sensory interaction. Projects such as Archermit’s Feixue Pavilion in Sichuan reinterpret petal-inspired roof forms to create a nature education center that blends architecture with landscape. In Vietnam, the Lotus Clubhouse is envisioned as a living organism shaped by forests and water, demonstrating how spatial design and contemporary design increasingly draws inspiration from natural systems and biophilic environments.

The exhibition also highlights architecture’s growing role in creating dynamic and interconnected experiences. Shenzhen Longhua Foreign Languages School by Z&Z STUDIO introduces flexible learning spaces designed to encourage collaboration and interaction, while A-L-M-A-D-R-A-V-A brings movement and heritage together through a kinetic installation inspired by Algarve’s tuna fishing traditions.
