Stadiums of 2027

More than 20 major stadiums are set to open in 2027, signaling one of the busiest and most ambitious years in contemporary sports architecture.

Dear PA reader,

The future of architecture unfolds like an algorithm, fluid, unpredictable, and alive with possibility.

The year 2027 is shaping up to be a defining moment for global sports architecture. Across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, more than 20 stunning new stadiums are scheduled to open. Zaha Hadid Architects, in collaboration with Bureau Cube Partners, has won an international competition to design the Alta Tower, a 35-story mixed-use complex in New Belgrade, Serbia.

Los Angeles has taken a major step forward in reshaping its convention and events landscape as global architecture firm Populous unveils the first official renderings of the long-anticipated Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) expansion and modernization. In Oman, the Al Khair Mosque is under construction as the world’s first 3D-printed mosque, combining traditional form with digital fabrication.
