Sagrada Família Becomes World’s Tallest Church
Sagrada Família reaches new heights, surpassing Ulm Minster, after crews hoisted a new cross segment to 162.9 meters
Dear PA reader,
Gaudí’s Sagrada Família in Barcelona has at last become the world’s tallest church after crews hoisted a new cross segment to 162.9 m. Google’s “Project Suncatcher” aims skyward as well, proposing to run AI data centers on solar-powered satellites.
In the design software realm, Adobe’s Project Turn Style is blurring the line between 2D and 3D – an AI tool that turns flat images into fully rotatable 3D layers. In Tokyo, the Arimaston Building by Keisuke Oka – a twisting concrete tower hand-built over two decades – has finally been completed, standing as a one-of-a-kind testament to slow craftsmanship and organic creativity amid a city of sleek high-rises.
Over in France, BIG’s newly unveiled “The Sail” congress center sweeps a dramatic timber roof along the Rouen waterfront, evoking a ship’s sail to honor the city’s maritime heritage. In Valencia, the Roig Arena debuted as a €400 million multi-use venue wrapped in the world’s first all-ceramic facade – an undulating skin of some 8,600 locally made ceramic fins.
