Miami's Design Story
Miami advances through innovation, culture, sustainability, and design.
Dear PA Reader,
Miami continues to strengthen its global profile with major developments across hospitality, residential, and commercial sectors. The launch of Anantara's first U.S. hotel, Aston Martin's residential tower, and the topping out of Safra National Bank Tower showcase the city's focus on luxury living and urban growth.
The city is also embracing change through the demolition of the landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel and the upcoming opening of Miami Freedom Park. These projects reflect a balance between historic transition and future vision as Miami reinvents key parts of its urban fabric.
Beyond construction, Miami is leading through culture, education, and sustainability. Es Devlin's kinetic installation at Miami Art Week, innovative school design, and 3D-printed reefs aimed at restoring marine ecosystems demonstrate how the city is investing in both people and the environment.

Dynamic Wearables for Fashion Design 2.0This workshop expands the logic of dynamic wearables from jewelry-scale precision into garment-scale body systems, teaching students how to generate, map, segment, and fabricate computational designs that move between ornament, accessory, and fashion. The workshop is scheduled for July 18 & 19, 2026. | AI Worldbuilding with SvelteKit & Three.jsThis workshop explores a new way of creating 3D environments for the web. In the past, building 3D scenes often required long modeling workflows and specialized software. Today, AI tools make it possible to start with a prompt, generate assets, write code, and build scenes much faster. The workshop is scheduled for June 27 & 28, 2026. |
