How Engineers Plan To Construct NEOM’s The Line

Saudi Arabia’s NEOM project has unveiled detailed insights into how engineers plan to construct The Line, an ambitious megacity.

Dear PA reader,

In Saudi Arabia, as NEOM’s The Line is taking shape, engineers have unveiled construction plans on how they will bring the futuristic linear city clad in mirrored glass to life. In Bangkok, crowds flocked to ICONSIAM’s new Pop Mart flagship, a 760‑square‑meter pop-art emporium.

OpenAI unveiled Atlas, an AI browser for ChatGPT that can summarize web pages and even shop online. In Tokyo, Toyota’s concepts showcased at the Mobility Show ranged from a six-wheel Lexus luxury van to a self-driving baby stroller, hinting at a playful electric future. Over in Basel, Swiss artists turned Münsterplatz into a giant picnic: the Riklin brothers’ “BIGNIK” project stitched 3,000 red-and-white cloth panels together, flooding the square with color and whimsy.

In Seoul, the National Museum of Korea will open a new Islamic art wing, a curated gallery of Qur’ans, ceramics, and centuries of heritage that weaves Islamic culture into its global narrative. And in Cairo, Egypt at last unveiled its Grand Egyptian Museum: a monumental $1‑billion glass-and-stone complex housing some 50,000 antiquities, including the entire 5,000‑piece treasure of King Tutankhamun.

Finally, our survey of ten “future campus” designs highlights projects from green-roof art schools to modular quads, where sustainability and collaboration shape the learning environment.
