Burning Man Temple 2026
This year's Burning Man temple, "Temple of the Moon," is inspired by a rare desert flower.
Dear PA reader,
Architecture often reveals its most experimental side in temporary structures and cultural gatherings where designers test ideas at the intersection of art, technology, and public experience. From Burning Man’s contemplative desert temples to the luminous ice cities of Harbin and the immersive stages of global music festivals, this week’s stories explore how architecture continues to shape collective moments across landscapes, climates, and cultures.
Highlights include the Temple of the Moon at Burning Man 2026, a reflection-driven structure inspired by the rare Queen of the Night bloom; a retrospective on Coachella’s evolving installation architecture; the upcoming Tomorrowland Thailand festival; Harbin’s monumental ice architecture; and a guide to ten key global architecture events in 2026. The selection also revisits the inflatable ARK NOVA concert hall, Glastonbury’s experimental installations, and the World Architecture Festival’s ongoing role in bringing together some of the most influential projects shaping contemporary design.
