Adaptive Fashion: Procedural Design with Bio-Materials

Imagine if we could harness all available technologies in a tailored way—what new materials and designs could we create that interact dynamically with our bodies and environment?

Join us for a workshop with Laura Civetti, where we’ll explore innovative design methodologies merging data-driven geometries using bio-materials.

Adaptive Fashion: Procedural Design with Bio-Materials

This upcoming workshop by Laura Civetti will explore innovative design methodologies merging data-driven geometries using bio-materials. The workshop will focus on creating adaptive, second-skin textiles for the human body.

Through AI tools like Midjourney for concept generation, parametric design with Grasshopper, and rendering with Blender, attendees will learn to generate complex patterns and material recipes that respond to environmental data, enhancing functionality and sustainability in fashion design.

🎟️Discount: 15% (for all digital members)

💺Available seats: 5

Date & Time: November 2-3, 2024, from 14:00 to 18:00 GMT.

Methodology:

Using data from the body or environment, this workshop will investigate the generation of geometry in textile forms, patterns, and microstructures, from a single layer to multiple layers, able to respond to different needs.

Participants will be able to generate complex geometries, from which it will be possible to extract useful information to select the most appropriate materials.

The main objective is to embed biomaterial know-how in the design workflow.

What You Will Learn:

AI in Design: Learn how AI enhances concept design processes.

Surface Analysis: Master techniques for effective user needs assessment.

Parametric Geometry: Generate adaptable designs from diverse data sources.

Material Recipes: Develop custom material formulations from a material library.

Holistic Design Strategy: Integrate AI, analysis, geometry, and materials into cohesive designs.

Adaptive Fashion: Procedural Design with Bio-Materials

Software Utilized:

  • Midjourney

  • Rhinoceros 3D

  • Grasshopper 3D

  • Blender
